Australians have a unique opportunity, right now, to influence what is happening in Tibet. Sign the petition below before Kevin Rudd heads to Beijing to meet the Chinese President and Premier. Let’s let our PM know he has a strong mandate to stand up for the rights of Tibetans.

BLOW A DIFFERENT TORCH - DIDGE FOR TIBET
BLOWING A DIFFERENT TORCH
DIDGE FOR TIBET
On Monday April 7, in a noisy but peaceful protest against the China
Government’s oppression of Tibet, Dean Frenkel parked himself outside
the Chinese Consulate and played his didge (as a horn) against the gate
and over the brick fence - the whole place shuddered with just one didge
- someone inside said they thought it was a train. The Federal Police
arrived just as he was leaving.
On Saturday April 19 at 2pm he will lead a unknown number of didgeridoo
players to participate in a mass collective horn-blowing protest
exercise outside the China Consulate.
The symbol of this action is to use the horn-sound of the didge to send
the following messages to the China Government:
* To stop cracking down on Tibet.
* To stop interfering with Tibetan culture.
* To be humane and tolerant with dissidents.
* To grant autonomy back to Tibet.
This action not formally connected with any Tibetan interest group. It
is a demonstration of support of Australians for the Tibetan cause - a
bloodless and lateral way of delivering an effective message to The
China Gov’t.
Participants are instructed to be non-violent and no-one is to be
arrested. Didge players are especially welcome - support from pro Tibetans appreciated
NEWS EMBRAGO until April 19 at 2pm.
