Well it seems like the Australian Big Brother can’t get enough of anything that “slaps”. As most remember last year’s infamous turkey slap incident a new video has emerged of house mate Emma “slapping” fellow house mate Laura.

Big Brother live stream viewers  witnessed the footage on Tuesday night and has now landed on Behind Big Brother Australia, funnily enough it didnt air on their daily show…

Personally, I didn’t think that much of the Emma’s reaction, I just thought it looked like a harmless tap.

Heres the video below on Youtube, but if it gets removed you can view it on the Behind Big Brother Australia post Fans call foul: Emma hits Laura.

Meg over at Dipping into the Blogpond has started the Australian Blogs Community at BUMPzee.

In Join an Australian Blogs Community on BUMPzee, Meg states that:

BUMPzee started out as a social networking site for affiliate marketing bloggers, but has grown to include a variety of other communities.

While MyBlogLog and BlogCatalog focus on individual blogs, BUMPzee is different.BUMPzee

BUMPzee allows like minded bloggers to join communities according to their interests, where the focus is on the community, not an individual blog.

For avid consumers of Aussie blogs, one of the real bonuses is that you can subscribe easily to an RSS feed for all the blogs that join the community, OR read entries via your BUMPzee reader (on the site).

You can vote for entries by “bump”ing them, see what’s popular, see what’s new, search for tags within the community, leave comments (aka discuss), messages and post events (once I work out how!). There’s an optional widget to display recent BUMPzee visitors, and a WordPress plugin… but these are by no means compulsory.

There are now a whole bunch of members after just one day, she has obviously started a great thing!

Signing up is pretty easy, just head over to the BUMPzee’s registration page, then once you have done that submit your blog’s RSS feed and then submit it to Australian Blogs… simple as :)

It isnt very often that Perth gets a tour without the eastern states getting it first, but it is even rarer for us to get an exclusive one night tour which abandons the eastern seaboard! This for me is very staggering but I am not complaining (sorry to all my eastern seaboard comrades). Anyway this is the case with the WWE SmackDown SummerSlam Tour.sfx16988.jpg

GetUp has started a competition to get Australians to show 30 Second of ‘their’ Australia. Winners will be broadcast during prime time in amidst of the federal election campaign.

“As the election draws close, Australians will be bombarded with advertising from political parties - much of it mudslinging rather than inspiring us to better understand our country. But what if we could reclaim our airwaves, and broadcast political ads of the people, by the people and for the people? What if instead of just being told what politicians want from us, we could show what we want from them?”

Here’s the basic brief:

Make an Ad: In 30 seconds, show us a slice of your vision: maybe it’s a call to action on an issue close to your heart, maybe it’s an idea that brings us closer to the Australia you want to live in; or your take on a major policy or event, rather than the spin you’ve been fed.

Submit your ad online: Then, whether you make an ad or not, from July you’ll be able to view and vote online to help us determine the best. Entries open today, and close on June 30.

View and vote: The top 10 ads - as voted on by you - will make it to our shortlist and we’ll fly the finalists to Sydney to attend a gala awards reception at the Sydney Opera House on August 1. There, they’ll go before our celebrity judging panel (including ABC-TV movie reviewer Margaret Pomeranz, and the advertising industry’s “Director of the Year” Bruce Hunt who was second-unit director of The Matrix).

Watch the ad on air: Come election time, the top ad will be broadcast on national, prime time TV - the first political ad authorised by you.

This year we’re not waiting for them to sell us their agenda. We’re showing them ours. We can’t wait to see your ads - so spread the word with your creative friends and family, and get filming!
